Missing wheatbelt man declared dead

An Arizona man was declared dead Tuesday night after he fell and fell into his own manure, officials said.

The man was falling between two boulders on a grassy field in the Big Bend area of north-central Arizona about 8:30 p.m. when he fell down with rocks in his hands, the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said in a statement Tuesday. The man suffered no life-threatening injuries.

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the deceased man who fell into an unguarded and unguarded area during an outdoor activity,” the department said.

Authorities said the man’s friends, who were working on an unrelated project, 바카라 brought him the supplies for a farm in the pasture on the Big Bend area’s north side.

“All of the fields are protected with a fence and a concrete pad on each corner,” said Gary Dittoe, Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokesman. “We have been told that they were a couple that came in after work. They were not around when he fell.”

Dittoe said the man had been working in a nearby field when he fell.

“When he fell he went right into the pile of manure and fell, but didn’t touch the pile,” Dittoe said. “It happened so quickly that there was no movement of the pile. He was a little high on some pieces and was pretty close to touching the pile at one point.”

A man also died early Tuesday, officials said. Both deaths are under investigation, officials said.

The Arizona Department of Agriculture’s Big Bend division was asked to investigate the deaths. The agency’s office and field operations manager have responded to the incident.

In another apparent case Monday, 바카라 a Colorado man fell and fell into his own manure while helping to build a snow blower on the Colorado-Arkansas border.

David James, 56, of Colorado Springs, fell on a 1-foot-deep pile of snow blower gravel, creating a hole about 13 feet wide inside the machine and causing a fire, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported.

James suffered no life-threatening injuries but his daughter told The Associated Press he may have sustained burns.

A spokeswoman with the Colorado Department of Public Safety said James’ wife is a licensed blower and operator.

A statement from the company said James is the owner of Big Bend Pro-Lube.
